How Long Is Now (2020) is a series that plays with a powerful paradox. At first glance, the viewer might think the photographs only depict the past: past dreams, past lives, past structures. In fact, Soden’s work really talk about the present and our perception of passing time. This series pushes the viewer into a profound reflection about the meaning of time, and our understanding of the present moment — of Now.
